The Advisors have been specifically trained to support JET clients throughout their journey with the service from the initial assessment and planning stages to helping clients to sustain their employment once in paid work. This continuity of support is a vital component of the success of the service and our ability to support clients to progress rapidly into employment.

Support services provided by the Employment Advisor include:

– Initial Assessments
– Action Planning
– CV Building
– Job Searching and Job Applications
– Interview Skills and Confidence Building
– Job Coaching

Training

+

Our National College Network Training Centre delivers a range of flexible vocational and life skills courses including Customer Services, Information Technology, Food Hygiene, Literacy and Numeracy. These courses are delivered in state of the art training rooms with access to the latest learning resources and equipment.

Through diagnostic testing, courses are provided at the appropriate level for clients and our qualified specialist tutors and teaching assistants foster a supportive environment, providing clients with the skills, knowledge and qualifications to best equip their progression into employment.

To support this progression volunteers from organisations including Thomson Reuters and Citibank add value to our training courses by providing their practical knowledge and experience to the training programs we offer.

Social Enterprise

+

Tower Project Valeting Services is a social enterprise set up by the Tower Project in 2010 to provide real employment and on the job training opportunities for disabled people and people with long term health conditions living in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Based at the services premises in Limehouse, the social enterprise provides a valeting service for community transport vehicles and has provided valeting for LBTH Borough Transport, Tower Hamlets Community Transport, LBTH Parking Enforcement and a variety of local schools and voluntary sector organisations.

Through its work, the social enterprise currently offers paid employment opportunities to 12 local disabled people each year. In addition, the service has developed an OCN accredited training program which is delivered over a 8 week period in conjunction with a work placement at the valeting service.

This year 35 clients graduated from the training program with the most successful candidates gaining paid employment at the Tower Project Valeting Service or are supported by their JET Employment Advisors to gain employment in other cleaning services.

Employer Engagement

+

The Tower Project JET Service operates a robust employment engagement programme working with employers in the private, public and voluntary sectors to source work placements, work trials and paid employment opportunities for JET clients.

Employers working with the JET Service range from large multinational companies in Canary Wharf to small voluntary sector providers.

In addition to creating work opportunities for our clients, the Tower Project JET service plays an active role in promoting the employment of disabled people and people with long term health conditions.
